Old Jimmy Meadows
Was a wild and crazy man
Long blonde hair and shinin eyes
With a guitar in his hands
He didn’t wanna go
but he had to fly
He loved the green green grass of home
But boy did he love the ride
He told me about a snake with yellow and white lines
It’d chew you up and spit you out
If you didn’t treat it right
But he knew it so well
And it’s bright eyes
He’d tamed that snake from here to home
Boy he was one of a kind
So he had to go
And he had to fly
Still did love that grass back home
But on the snake he’d ride
Guide stones brought him back to where he used to be
But he couldn’t stay away from the shiny happy city
So he had to go
And he had to fly
Sure did miss that grass back home but boy he loved to ride
Boy he loved to ride

Jesus and Peterbilt

I put my faith in my baby
Like I was supposed to do
But I never even though about her mouth
And defending her in dispute
First my card game ran too late
Then I spent too much on beer
When she started knocking christ and my diesel truck
I said baby I’m outta here
I put my faith in Jesus & Peterbuilt
Jesus will get me in to heaven
And My truck is my gospel ship
She treated me so badly
But her I just can’t hate
Jesus helps me forgive
As I haul these loads of freight
She’s up in New York City
With a call-in radio show
She don’t give a dern more than Howard Stern
And her ratings are far from low
But I hear she’s got two subjects
She don’t tread on much
She don’t talk bad about her savior
And she cranks for diesel trucks
I put my faith in Jesus & Peterbuilt
Jesus will get me in to heaven
And My truck is my gospel ship
She treated me so badly
But her I just can’t hate
Jesus helps me forgive
As I haul these loads of freight
